MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS
We recommend that all TSS boxes be installed by professional mechanics who are familiar with the location of fuel tanks, fuel lines, brake lines, electrical wires and etc. that are directly below the cargo area of your vehicle. The mounting kit includes two Z shaped mounting brackets. (see drawing) To fasten the brackets to the floor of the cargo area drill holes at appropriate locations and secure by using hardened bolts appropriate for the application. Before making any holes through the floor verify the location of all wires, fuel lines, brake lines etc. that run below the cargo area of the vehicle. Install the bracket that will hold down the back of the box first. Determine where the back of the box will sit in the vehicle and fasten the long leg of the bracket to the floor. Place the mounting bracket on the floor of the vehicle approximately 1 ½" forward from where the rear of the box will sit. Place the TSS box in the vehicle over the rear bracket and then slide it forward so the flange on the bottom of the box slides up under the raised lip of the mounting bracket that is fastened down to the floor. The flange may be mounted at any location to slide over any of the box flanges appropriate to fastening screw or bolts to vehicle . Each support pan has a flange available to be used.) With the drawers removed, reach through the holes provided in the frame of the box and slide the loose mounting bracket up over the flange of the frame. Working through the openings, drill holes to secure the mounting plate to the floor. Check to make sure the TSS is securely fastened to the floor of the vehicle. TSS products are designed to provide secure storage for valuables as a deterrent to theft. TSS products should not be considered to be equal to a safe. Installation of TSS products is an option to be decided upon by purchaser. They may be used for storage with or without securing to vehicle. TSS products may become dislodged in a severe collision or vehicle rollover . |
